The American Legion Family of the American Legion, Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion unite to support veterans, their families and communities.
The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic Veterans organization dedicated to mutual helpfulness.
The local American Legion is dedicated in its mission to serve local Veterans and their families, and serve the community.
Advocates for veterans and active-duty personnel, and mentored youth programs.

Post #137 provides wake and graveside services for local Veterans' families in coordination with rea Funeral Homes.

The Legion provides color guard detail for the Field of Dreams, local sporting events, parades, concerts and other events.

Post #137 sponsors Boys State and attends local school events and programs - including Veteran forums with High School students.

The Dyersville Legion Post attends many local events to represent the Veteran community.
