Dear Post 137 Legion Members

UPCOMING EVENTS FOR LEGION POST 137

Hello Post 137 Legionnaires and Auxiliary

The end of February is near and spring is fast approaching. The winter hasn’t been too bad and we haven’t been very busy with funerals; which is always good. However, with spring brings many other activities that will be here before we know it. First, I would like to remind you of our next meeting on March 1st. I hope to see everyone there.

UPCOMING EVENTS

The St. Patrick’s Day parade will be on Saturday, March 11th at 1:00 p.m.; please meet at the Legion room at 11:30 a.m. The parade line-up will be at 12:30 p.m. The Rifle Squad and Color Guard will be needed.

The following Saturday, March 18th, is the Farmer’s Appreciation parade in New Vienna. We will assemble at the Legion room at 11:30 a.m. The parade is at 1:00 p.m. and the Rifle Squad and Color Guard will be needed.

At the last meeting, I mentioned the Dubuque County Legion Baseball Tournament. The Tournament is on Saturday, May 6th and Sunday May 7th. The Cascade Legion is hosting the Tournament but there are too many games for one Park. We will need help with the Color Guard, ticket sales, etc.

Following is a list of upcoming events:

  • 12 Members will be honored at the 50/60/70 Banquet
The banquet will be determined at a later date
  • Memorial Day – Monday, May 29
  • Flag Day – Wednesday, June 14
  • Golf Tournaments

The American Legion Family

Together, members of The American Legion, The American Legion Auxiliary and the Sons of The American Legion make up what is known as The Legion Family.
All three organizations place high importance on preserving our American traditions and values, improving the quality of life for our nation's children, caring for veterans and their families, and perhaps most importantly, teaching the fundamentals of good citizenship.
